ROUTE BETWEEN LIGHTS AND BATTERIES

This is a 17-kilometer hiking route on the northwest coast of Ferrol, walking between the Prioriño Chico Lighthouse and the beach of O Vilar-Covas. You can see the exterior of the lighthouse at Cabo Prioriño Chico, as well as its 18th-century batteries and a beautiful panorama of the Ártabro Gulf, with Coruña and its Tower of Hercules in the background. We continue north, on narrow paths with remains of military batteries from the early 20th century. We will cross the beaches of Penencia and Doniños, with the remains of their castle, and then the pine forest of San Jorge to reach its beach, which we will cross until we reach the beach of O Vilar in the town of Covas.
